  • Transparency and accessibility for adoption: His goal of simplifying complex on-chain data for everyday users mirrors the broader industry need to bridge the Web2-Web3 usability gap.

  • Mainstream adoption still distant: Mark’s view that crypto is at least a decade away from everyday integration reflects ongoing challenges around regulation, education, and trust in DLT.

  • Commitment to decentralisation and privacy: His ethical focus on user control and data protection upholds key principles of the blockchain space, especially relevant in light of recent centralisation trends.

Alignment with Entrepreneurial Mindset in Web3

  • Execution-focused over theoretical planning: Mark’s approach of getting ‘into the trenches’ reflects a practical, problem-first mindset essential for early-stage Web3 founders.

  • Leadership in asynchronous, global teams: Mark’s emphasis on constant communication and team support aligns with best practices for leading decentralised, remote teams.

  • Organic growth through community and content: Monitoring SEO and social signals rather than relying on paid acquisition highlights a sustainable and community-driven approach to growth.

Interview Preparation and Execution

  • Outreach and Networking: Initial contact with the interviewee was established through targeted engagement in relevant Telegram groups within the Web3, ETH Dublin, Solana and Superteam Talent communities based in Ireland. This highlighted the importance of community-based outreach in the decentralised ecosystem.

  • Time Management and Coordination: Coordinating across time zones required flexibility, forward planning and clear communication. This reflects the global nature of collaboration in the Web3 environment.

  • Question Development: Interview questions were carefully designed to explore both strategic insights and personal values. They were sent in advance for feedback to ensure alignment with the interviewee's preferences and current industry context.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Input from the interviewee was accommodated as part of a collaborative process, ensuring clarity, relevance and mutual comfort in the final discussion.

  • Responsiveness and Adaptability: Adjustments were made to the format and tone of the interview to suit the interviewee’s availability and communication style, promoting a more effective and authentic exchange.

  • Content Structuring: The interview was organised into two clear sections: personal background and company insights. This enabled a structured conversation and more coherent analysis afterwards.

Alignment with Web3 and DLT Learnings

  • Community-Driven Research: Using decentralised platforms like Telegram for outreach reflects how information and connections are built within the Web3 DLT ecosystem.

  • User-Centred Approach: The method of preparing and conducting the interview mirrored best practices in user research and human-centred design, which are essential in the development of Web3 products.

  • Agile and Flexible Practices: Iterative feedback and coordination throughout the process demonstrated an agile mindset aligned with current DLT project workflows.

  • Cross-Border Collaboration Skills: Successfully navigating asynchronous communication and international time differences reflects a key competency in the global Web3 industry.

Summary Reflection

Conducting the interview in form of Q&A with Mark, Founder and CEO of Solana Wallet Tracker, was both insightful and rewarding. The process involved thoughtful preparation, active outreach within Web3 communities, and effective coordination across time zones. Creating clear, relevant questions and adapting to the interviewee's needs highlighted the importance of flexibility and user-centred thinking in decentralised environments. The Q&A offered valuable alignment with current learnings in the Web3 DLT space, particularly around agile development, product-market fit, and the need for intuitive, accessible blockchain solutions. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, professionally enriching, and a reminder of the power of direct dialogue in the Web3 ecosystem. Grateful thanks to Mark for his time, openness and valuable insights.

Full Q&A Interview with Mark, Founder & CEO of Solana Wallet Tracker

Part 1: About the Interviewee, Founder & CEO Background and Values

1. Can you introduce yourself and share your journey into Web3 and crypto?

I'm Mark. I’ve been working in online marketing & growth for around 15 years. Originally, I worked in traditional marketing agencies for household brands like Daily Mail, Visit Ireland, Sony & Premier League. In 2016, I got assigned to a marketing contract with eToro’s

crypto division. From there, I fell down the rabbit hole and became obsessed with crypto, Web 3 and the benefits of decentralisation. By 2018, I decided to leave the marketing agency and launch my own crypto marketing agency. Since then, we have worked on contracts for major crypto brands like 1inch, Cardano, CoinTelegraph & Gemini.

2. What inspired you to start your own company in the blockchain space?

I’ve led teams previously and been involved with a few startups from a growth marketing perspective. I had always wanted to launch a product and last year I decided to take the leap.

At the time, I was working a contract for a trading platform and I took a lot of inspiration from the fast-to-market of meme coins.

3. Which personal values do you bring into your role as a leader in Web3?

I have quite a creative mindset - having been involved in leading marketing teams for many years. I have a well trained eye for visuals, user journeys and metric analysis. I believe this has helped me to roll out a company and product, which is ultimately super intuitive and valuable to anyone dabbling in trading crypto. My strongest quality is hiring, I like to hire people that are geniuses in their field. I believe in stepping back and letting those geniuses step up to the plate when it comes to development and engineering.

4. How do you define your purpose, and how does it influence the way you build your company?

I am a leader. It’s my job to bring the team together and get the best from each team player. I have worked with some incredible leaders in the past and this has certainly helped to develop my own leadership style. Constant communication is something that I prioritise. In tech and crypto more specifically, we are working round the clock, with remote teams in different time zones usually, to roll out products. Often when we are running on an important sprint, I will sleep 3-4 hours per night to ensure I'm always available, if a development query or issue should arise. I think this kind of support is crucial for any team. Knowing that your leader is just a text message away is very empowering.

5. What do you consider your greatest strengths and challenges in this fast-moving industry?

I can move fast and adapt to new trends. In crypto, I think that’s an essential quality for any leader. You need to be able to listen to what the market wants and pivot to fulfil that demand. If you are too slow to move, you will be left dead in the water. Of course the crypto market presents many challenges, however, I believe mainstream adoption is the biggest challenge to overcome. Yes, many people have heard of Bitcoin and crypto but it has still not infiltrated everyday life for most yet. I believe this will come but I still believe we are at least ten years before you can pay for your groceries with crypto.

6. Who do you look up to within the crypto or Web3 space, and why?

I am a huge fan of Anthony Pompliano. He has done wonders for crypto adoption in the USA and beyond. Pomp features on mainstream TV every few weeks, talking about the benefits of bitcoin and crypto. In my humble opinion, we need more guys like Pomp, speaking out, arguing with the traditionalists and the naysayers and bringing more normies to the world of crypto.

I think a lot of the adoption issue boils down to ignorance. People are typically scared of things they are not familiar with, so the more you can inform them, the more they become comfortable and more willing to give it a try. 7. How do you stay motivated and focused amid the volatility and changing narratives in crypto?

I've always been someone who just can't stop learning. It's like I'm constantly hungry for new information, and honestly, it's probably my biggest strength. I get genuinely excited when I discover something I didn't know before or when I can piece together how different ideas connect. Crypto has been the wildest ride in that sense. I've worked in different industries before, but nothing comes close to how fast things move here. Seriously, you can go to sleep and wake up to find that some new protocol has completely changed the game overnight. The stuff that seemed revolutionary last year? Half of it's already old news.

8. What role does ethical responsibility, such as decentralisation and user privacy, play in your work?

It's huge for me. I genuinely believe crypto should give people more control over their own money and data, not less. If we're just recreating the same centralized systems with different tech, we're missing the whole point.

9. What is your long-term vision for how blockchain technology can benefit society?

Honestly, I see it breaking down a lot of the gatekeeping that exists today. Whether it's sending money across borders, accessing financial services, or even proving your credentials, blockchain could make these things easier, direct and permissionless.

10. What advice would you give to someone looking to launch a startup in Web3 today?

  • Get in the trenches. Go join a bunch of subreddits. Get on X.

  • Talk to people. Find out their problems. Do lots of research and build an MVP based on a big problem a lot of people have.

  • If you can build a solution for a problem that a lot of people have, your first 100 customers will come easily. Then your job is to hit 1000 happy customers and this will take a lot of grit and determination.

  • If you stay committed and get over these first 2 hurdles, your bang on track for a successful startup.

Part 2: About Solana Wallet Tracker (The Company)

1. Can you introduce Solana WalletTracker and explain the problem it aims to solve?

Solana Wallet Tracker is essentially a leaderboard of people that trade meme coins on Solana. There are daily, weekly and monthly leaderboards showing the most successful traders.

You can see which meme coins the top trader (we call the Goat) is trading, their win rate and how much money they are making. It will blow your mind how much some of these guys are trading. One teenager is trading from his mum’s basement and is making five figures every month.

2. Who is your primary user base? Are you targeting retail users, traders, institutions, or analysts?

Our primary user base is meme coin traders and people wanting to make a lot of money in crypto. Our users will typically watch these leaderboards and copy a lot of the narrative plays the Goat trader makes. If Elon coins are hot one day, that will be the narrative play and there will be a lot of coins and money to be made from these coins.

3. What makes Solana Wallet Tracker stand out from alternatives such as Nansen, Solsniffer, or CoinStats?

SWT is a much more intuitive product than our competitors. We built it with that in mind. Speed is so important when it comes to trading. We present important data to users in a fast and easily digestible way. You can glance at our leaderboard and see who’s killing it. Click through and follow them on X, copy their wallet and start watching what they do in a couple of seconds.

We help traders learn from the best.

4. How do you strike a balance between comprehensive on-chain data and a user-friendly experience?

We have tried to build our product with the user in mind. Most people are not very technical, so with that in mind we structured our UI to ensure it’s super simple for people to understand what’s going on. The visuals and language used throughout have been crafted to make the product friendly to all. We wanted to build a tool that was as useful to a noob trader as it was to a seasoned crypto trench veteran.

5. Can you describe the technical architecture that supports your real-time tracking and alerting features?

We are tracking wallets from the Solana blockchain. We have an extensive list of well known trader wallets which we monitor every hour. We also have an integration with X. Next month, we intend to rollout trader profiles, where you can deep dive into traders activities more.

6. What is your business model? Are you using subscriptions, freemium access, or other revenue approaches?

Right now, we offer the product completely free and simply earn some revenue with a tracking partnership we have with the guys at Axiom. Axiom Pro is the go-to platform for meme coin traders, so when we told them what we were building, they were super supportive.

7. Which key product metrics do you use to measure growth and product–market fit?

Our team checks Google search console every morning for ranking improvements, on a range of important search queries. We have also started to track mentions across social platforms like Reddit and X. We use heat-maps to track what our users spend most time on.

8. Are there any upcoming partnerships or integrations on your roadmap that you can share?

Yes, we have a major partnership coming in Q4. I can’t disclose much more yet but it is a huge brand in crypto and this will enable us to roll out many more features.

9. How do you approach privacy and security, particularly when monitoring wallets and alerting users?

We have an ops security guy working on a contract basis. Every time we plan new features, we get a security and privacy review prior to deployment.

10. What are your key goals for the next 6 to 12 months, and what are you most excited about achieving?

We have big goals for Solana Wallet Tracker. The goal is to be the go-to wallet tracking leaderboard on the market. Soon, we will integrate a trading function, meaning users can purchase meme coins on our platform with low-latency and super fast execution times. Thank you, Mark, Founder and CEO of Solana Wallet Tracker, for taking the time to share with me, Katarzyna, Founder and CEO of Fehur, your professional journey, personal values and mission during the Q&A interview conducted on behalf of Web3 Talents and DLT Talents.
